Huddersfield based sister companies, UK Curtain Walling (UKCW) and Window Control Systems UK (WCS) have grown from strength to strength in the last 7 years since breaking away from the previous group of companies. Co-Directors Duncan and Samantha Hague made the decision to privately own the businesses after enjoying a successful career in the respective industries. Following years of growth, UK Curtain Walling and Window Control Systems have now taken ownership of a factory in Slaithwaite, Yorkshire. The factory will enable better production times, increased profitability and an ability to deliver and fit nationwide.

Director, Duncan says “Although our companies have experienced these capabilities in the past, we’ve reviewed our processes and found a way of doing what we do best, even better. This will allow us to offer a better service our clients, and at a more competitive rate.”

UKCW and WCS who work with schools, railway bridges, retail units and businesses in healthcare across the UK have built great relationships with their peers.

Samantha Hague noted, “It’s our approach that really makes our service offering different. Our clients appreciate that we’re honest, deliver on our word – and we leave the work space clean and tidy. I know that it doesn’t sound like a lot, but if you’re a business owner that’s subcontracting a lot of your work, you want to work with people that you work, like and trust. In most cases, that’s us.”

UK Curtain Walling are a leading supplier, fabricator and installer of aluminium curtain walling, doors and windows. The team are capable of offering glazing solutions to a number of different construction projects, and have a proven track record of high quality with National UK Main Contractors and Network Rail.

Window Control Systems supply and install manual and electric window opening systems. Their projects have seen actuators applied in hard to reach areas in universities, dentist and medical practices, care homes and places of worship. WCS proudly hold ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 14001:2015 certifications, showcasing their commitment to customer satisfaction and environmentally conscious decision-making.

In the future, we can expect to hear more from UKCW and WCS as their plans to grow are not slowing down. Duncan commented “Our new factory has also shown growth in our team, but we’re looking to recruit further in 2023. There’s some fantastic talent out there and encouraging the next generation to join the manufacturing sector is something I feel is really important.”

“The appointment of our new business development manager will accelerate the growth of Window Control Systems and give more focus to this area of the business” Samantha added. “This role requires time and the ability to focus on relationship building, so that they can understand the people dynamics and our clients, but you don’t have to have been in a role like this before. I’m really looking forward to introducing the new team member to our partners and suppliers.”
